Leerink Swann initiates coverage on Agilent (NYSE: A) with a Outperform rating and $49-$51 valuation range saying they expect better days ahead.

"This rating reflects a view that, beyond FY2013, Agilent could continue to grow revenue organically, at least in line with peers, while expanding operating margins at a faster clip, which could enable some multiple expansion."

The firm said the company's opportunity for operating margin expansion ranks among the more compelling within its peer group. Keys to expanding margin its efforts to improve the profitability of the Varian business, acquired in 2010. Also, continued progress on supply chain initiatives and manufacturing consolidation.
