Goldman Sachs initiates coverage on The Carlyle Group LP (NASDAQ: CG) with a Neutral. PT $22.00.

Analyst, Marc Irizarry, said, "CG ranks among the largest, most globally diverse alternative managers, positioning the firm for long-term growth, operating leverage, and cash distributions as the private equity backdrop improves. Near-term, we are more cautious given capital market volatility’s impact on exit activity and mark-to-market risk. Further, valuation bakes in the firm’s “up market” leverage and we see more attractive valuations elsewhere among alternative asset managers. Our 2012/2013/2014 ENI estimates are $2.19/$3.22/$3.54."
