FBR Capital initiates coverage on rue21, inc. (NASDAQ: RUE) with a Market Perform. PT $26.
FBR analyst says, "We believe that rue21’s store expansion model appeals to growth investors, as it allows for a five-year EPS growth rate of 15%–20%. Yet, we are concerned that the stores do not comp strongly, as we believe that comp-store sales are a core measure of the health of a retailer. Additionally, we believe that comps may be overstated due to the company’s practice of keeping expanded stores in the comp base." (FBR 2011-12 EPS estimates are $1.44 and $1.72)
