Deutsche Bank initiates coverage on shares of NeoPhotonics (NYSE: NPTN) with a Hold rating and $11 price target. The firm reports that the company is a leader in the optical components market and has a advanced portfolio of technologies and components, but they are skeptic on near-term shifts in carrier spending patterns and share shifts among the company's customers.
The optical sector has been hurting since the 1990s Internet bubble, but Deutsche believes that it will begin to turn around soon and take off. This is a very competitive market with many competitors.
