Compuware Delivers First Phase of Vantage/Gomez Integration

November 11, 2009 2:28 PM EST

DETROIT, Nov. 11, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR) today announced the first integration between its Compuware Vantage application performance management solution and its newly-acquired Gomez Web performance management solutions. Available immediately for customers of both Vantage and Gomez, this is the industry's first solution to power visibility across the entire application delivery chain -- from internal systems behind the firewall to the Web browsers of users around the globe.

Through unified dashboards, the solution accelerates the investigation and resolution of application performance issues impacting customers and critical business services. This empowers IT and business executives to deliver optimal application performance to drive brand image, customer loyalty and revenue.

"The National Hockey League (NHL) consistently brings its fans an outstanding experience -- in our arenas and online," said Peter DelGiacco, NHL Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. "With Compuware and Gomez together, the NHL has everything it needs to optimize the performance of our most important business applications across the Enterprise and the Internet: a unified dashboard, visibility over the entire application delivery chain, and immediate, deep-dive problem resolution."

Starting today, IT operations teams can gain a unified view of application performance data from both Vantage and Gomez solutions. For example, those who use Gomez to manage critical business applications delivered over the Internet can now directly drill from a Gomez alert into Vantage data to analyze root causes of issues stemming from internal systems. Similarly, IT teams using Vantage can now view Gomez Web performance data in Vantage dashboards, enabling a holistic view of business service delivery. Both scenarios provide more complete and actionable information than ever before, accelerating the identification, diagnosis and resolution of business-impacting issues.

"It would seem to be a statement of fact rather than opinion that at present, no vendor can equal Compuware in well integrated capabilities for monitoring application performance both inside and outside the firewall. With this first Vantage/Gomez integration, the benefit to customers should become real and potentially even dramatic," said industry analyst Dennis Drogseth, Vice President of Enterprise Management Associates.

"IT operations teams are universally challenged to reduce time to resolution and to better deliver on their commitments to supporting business services," said Imad Mouline, Chief Technology Officer, Gomez Division, Compuware Corporation. "Our customers have resoundingly voiced their interest in the value of integrated Vantage and Gomez solutions, and they are excited to deploy the first unified view of application performance across the Enterprise and Internet."

"We are committed to delivering high-value integrations between Vantage and Gomez, and this first deliverable is proof of that promise," said Mark Hillman, Vice President, Strategy and Product Line Management, Compuware Corporation. "By moving quickly with our integration, we are able to provide immediate value to our customers, within days of the acquisition close. This is a very important first step in creating integrated solutions that dramatically improve the way organizations manage application performance across the Enterprise and the Internet."

The Vantage/Gomez integration is available immediately for all mutual users of Gomez and Vantage at no additional charge.
