Canaccord Genuity assumes coverage on InterMune Inc. (NASDAQ: ITMN) with a Buy. PT $44 (was $47 by previous analyst).
Canaccord analyst, Ritu Baral, said, "We are assuming coverage with a BUY and $44 target on Esbriet (pirfenidone) potential blockbuster EU sales and US clinical success. Esbriet is ITMN’s antifibrotic drug for IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis), an incurable orphan pulmonary disease with no other current treatment options. We think Esbriet will see rapid EU adoption constrained more by distribution logistics and reimbursement than by patient demand. We think Esbriet has a good chance of clinical success in the pivotal US ASCEND trial."
