Catalyst Pharmaceutical Partners, Inc. (Nasdaq: CPRX) 30% HIGHER; will continue to develop CPP-109 (Catalyst's version of vigabatrin) for the treatment of cocaine and methamphetamine addiction. The Company's decision was made after, and based upon, an in-depth review of the results obtained from its 186-patient Phase II clinical trial evaluating the use of CPP-109 for the treatment of cocaine addiction (CPP-01004) and the top-line results obtained from its 57-patient proof-of-concept study evaluating the use of CPP-109 for the treatment of methamphetamine addiction (CPP-02001).

Penske Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE: PAG) 10% LOWER; erminated its discussions with General Motors Company to acquire the Saturn brand

Lawson Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: LWSN) 9% LOWER; reports Q1 non-GAAP EPS of $0.09, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.05. Revenue for the quarter was $169 million, which compares to the estimate of $161.85 million. Sees Q2 adj-EPS of $0.07-$0.09, which compares to the Street estimate of $0.09. Sales for the quarter are expected to be $175-$180 million, which compares to the consensus estimate of $161.85 million.

Xyratex Ltd. (Nasdaq: XRTX) 7% HIGHER; reports Q3 adj-EPS of $0.36, versus the analyst estimate of $0.14. Revenue for the quarter was $246.3 million, which compares to the estimate of $239.17 million.

Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTI) 7% LOWER; intends to commence an underwritten public offering of 4 million shares of its common stock.

UAL Corporation (Nasdaq: UAUA) 5% LOWER; announced that it plans to offer 19 million shares of its common stock in an underwritten registered public offering.

BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: BCRX) 3% HIGHER; Delivers Response to HHS; Initiates Two Phase 3 Studies of Peramivir

Helicos Biosciences (Nasdaq: HLCS) 2% LOWER; filed to sell up to 6,633,789 shares.

Diamond Foods, Inc. (Nasdaq: DMND) 2% LOWER; Reports Q4 EPS of $0.25, 7 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.18. Revenue for the quarter was $113.8 million, which compares to the estimate of $113.86 million. Raises its FY10 EPS guidance from $1.55-$1.70 to $1.70-$1.80, versus the consensus of $1.74. Sales for the year move to $585-$605 million, which compares to the Street estimate of $596.55 million. Also filed a $250 million mixed securities shelf on form S-3 with the SEC.


Bank of America's (NYSE: BAC) 1.5% HIGHER; CEO Ken Lewis announced his decision to retire, effective December 31, 2009. The Board will continue ongoing planning to ensure his successor is selected by that date. Lewis will retire as CEO and as a director.
