Nexen, Inc. (NYSE: NXY) shares are dropping today. The company is being pursued by CNOOC (NYSE: CEO), though CNOOC has had trouble clearing the deal with the Canadian government.
UPDATE - The Canadian Government is said to make an announcement this afternoon.
Shares are now down 6.5 percent Friday. The stock is halted on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
