Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARNA) is surging higher Friday although no fundamental reason can be found to explain the action.
Rival VIVUS Inc. (Nasdaq: VVUS) is expected to receive FDA approval today, but this is for a erectile dysfunction drug avanafil and is not related to competing obesity drug Qnexa.
Shares of Arena Pharmaceuticals last traded at $2.74, up 27%.
