SHFL entertainment, Inc. (Nasdaq: SHFL) has acquired ProTec Games, Inc. ("ProTec"), a computer-based content provider for casino slot games, table games, and online video games. Located in Qingdao, China, ProTec will continue to develop graphical assets and perform software development and testing for SHFL's slot machines and other electronic products.
The Company engaged ProTec for the creation of various graphical assets over the past year. Having a studio based in China will also allow SHFL to deliver game content that will be better tailored to the Asian region, a fast-evolving and promising gaming market.
