GE/Comcast Confirm Deal Talks: Spun-Off NBC Universal Would Merge with Comcast

CNBC's David Faber is reporting that GE (NYSE: GE) and Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) have confirmed that they are in talks related to a deal which would have GE spinning off NBC Universal, along with a significant amount of debt, into a separate entity that would merge with Comcast's content assets.

Sources say Comcast would own 51% of the entity and GE would own 49%.
