Barnes & Noble (BKS) Denies Liberty (LINTA) Takeover Rumors; Live Nation (LYV) Could Still Be on the Table

November 11, 2011 1:10 PM EST
Shares of Barnes & Noble (NYSE: BKS) and Live Nation (NYSE: LYV) are trading higher Friday afternoon, potentially on the heels of a research note from Phoenix Partner's Robert Routh which suggests Liberty Media (Nasdaq: LINTA) (Nasdaq: LSTZA) (Nasdaq: LCAPA) could go all in for either company.

The analyst points to rumors of a new credit facility indicating Liberty could have some major news coming over the near-term.

While a Barnes & Noble spokesperson has denied the rumors, shares are still up about 2.6 percent from Thursday's close. The stock was up as much as 10 percent earlier. Shares of Live Nation are up 2.7 percent to $8.38.
