AvalonBay (AVB) CEO Blair to Retire at End of CY11
AvalonBay Communities, Inc. (NYSE: AVB) announces that Chief Executive Officer Bryce Blair will retire at the end of 2011. Blair will remain as Chairman of the Board through 2012.
Timothy J. Naughton, the Company's President, will then assume the additional role and title of Chief Executive Officer.
Naughton has served as President and a Director since 2005. He joined the Company in 1989 and has served in a variety of roles, including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Investment Officer, and development and acquisitions officer. He received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia.
