According to reports from FT.com, Arcelor Mittal (NYSE: MT) is considering a counter bid for Alpha Natural Resources Inc. (NYSE: ANR), which is currently in a deal to be acquired by Cleveland-Cliffs Inc (NYSE: CLF).
The report said Arcelor Mittal is also considering if it should wait on the sidelines to see if the current deal falls apart or buy the combined company.
Recently, Cleveland-Cliffs' largers shareholder, Harbinger Capital, came out against the deal.
