Shares of Alcan (NYSE: AL) are roughly 2% higher in early action Tuesday as speculation of another bidder for the company heats up following the company's rejection of Alcoa's (NYSE: AA) bid last week.

Recent media reports have suggested Rio Tinto (NYSE: RTP) Norsk Hydro ASA (NYSE: NHY) or BHP Billiton (NYSE: BHP) could submit a bid for the company.

Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (NYSE: RIO), United Company RUSAL, Anglo American and Xstrata Plc are also seen as possible suitors for Alcan.
