Dow Jones Industrial Avg. tops 18,000 for first time.
UPDATE - The DJIA has reached as high as 18,042.41, up about 0.46 percent.
Both the DJIA and S&P 500 have been on a four-session rally, each setting new records in the process.
Bolstering the move was third estimates for Q3 U.S. GDP, which came in at 5 percent versus expectations of a 4.3 percent gain.
Durable goods orders showed a surprise 0.7 percent drop in November, versus expectations calling for a 2.9 percent gain.
The University of Michigan Consumer Confidence index came in at 93.6 for December, edging out expectations for a reading of 93.5.
