Boehner 'Optimistic' Comments on Fiscal Cliff Lifts Stocks Off Lows

Markets strengthened over the past little while following comments from House Speaker Boehner (R) that he is "optimistic" on fiscal cliff talks. Boehner said he will continue to work with President Obama. Boehner continues to oppose tax cut expiration for top earners.
The Dow is down 26, the S&P 500 is down 3 and the Nasdaq is down 4, although all are sharply off their lows following the comments.
