TeamHealth Holdings Inc. (NYSE: TMH) announced the acquisition of Florida Emergency Physicians (FEP). Based in Orlando, Florida, FEP is the exclusive emergency medicine staffing provider for 11 facilities spanning five counties within the Florida Hospital health system. FEP comprises approximately 150 physicians and 100 advanced practice clinicians who provide care for 600,000 patients each year.
"FEP has proudly served the Florida Hospital system since its founding in 1969," said Jorge Lopez, MD, president and CEO of FEP. We look forward to continuing to deliver excellent emergency care in a state-of-the-art environment for the citizens and visitors of Central Florida."
"FEP has been a true partner with Florida Hospital for many years while caring for patients. In the end, it is the quality and commitment of the people that make the difference. Our team remains the same as we create a strong and growing framework for a bright future. We look forward to continuing this journey side by side with the new FEP and TeamHealth partnership," said Daryl Tol, president and CEO, Florida Hospital and Adventist Health System's Central Florida Region.
