Yahoo! (YHOO) May Take 'Several More Weeks' to Announce Permanent CEO -AllThingsD

July 12, 2012 10:38 AM EDT
Following an LA Times report late Wednesday which said Ross Levinsohn is expected to be named Yahoo!'s (Nasdaq: YHOO) permanent replacement for the CEO role, AllThingsD's Kara Swisher, considered thee source for Yahoo! rumors recently, is disagreeing Thursday.

Many had expected the successor -- whomever he or she may be -- to be announced this morning at the company's Annual Shareholder Meeting. Swisher, however, is throwing some skepticism at that rumor. Citing "multiple sources close to the situation," Swisher said a decision might actually take several more weeks.

Swisher's sources suggested the Board is still considering a number of other candidates besides Levinsohn. Hulu CEO Jason Kilar is rumored to be a top alternative for the position.

Yahoo!'s Annual Shareholder Meeting will begin shortly, at 11am ET.
