Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO) has hired high-profile ad executive Michael Barrett, according to AllThingsD.
Barrett has been working at Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) since it bought an ad tech company he ran a year ago, the report said.
AllThingsD said Barrett will be in charge of ad revenue and operations worldwide. AllThingsD said the move "is a significant one, giving the company a boost in its most critical area of business."
Shares of Yahoo are essentially flat going into the open.
