Peter A. Darbee Named President/CEO of PG&E (PCG) Subsidiary

PG&E Corporation (NYSE: PCG) announced that Peter A. Darbee, Chairman, CEO and President, will assume the additional duties of CEO and President of Pacific Gas and Electric Company effective upon approval from the California Public Utilities Commission.

The assumption of the leadership role at Pacific Gas and Electric Company results from the departure of William T. Morrow who informed the company he is leaving to pursue opportunities to re-enter the international technology and telecom sector.

PG&E Corporation is an energy-based holding company that conducts its business through Pacific Gas and Electric Company (Utility), a public utility operating in northern and central California. Pacific Gas and Electric Company, a subsidiary of PG&E Corporation, is one of the largest combined natural gas and electric utilities in the United States. [SM]
