HSBC Bank (HBC) Names Irene Dorner to President and CEO of U.S. Banking Arm

Irene Dorner has been named President and CEO of HSBC Bank USA, N.A., (NYSE: HBC) the U.S. banking arm of HSBC Holdings, one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations. She also serves as President of HSBC USA Inc. and as a Director of HSBC North America Holdings Inc., HSBC USA Inc. and HSBC Bank USA, N.A.

Ms. Dorner is now based at the North America headquarters of HSBC in New York City, which also serves as the U.S headquarters for the Bank. She succeeds Paul Lawrence, who was recently appointed Head of Group Audit, HSBC Holdings plc, and has relocated to London.

Dorner is a highly-experienced international banker who most recently served for nearly three years as Deputy Chairman and CEO of HSBC Bank Malaysia. Dorner began her career with HSBC in 1982 as an in-house lawyer of Samuel Montagu & Co Limited, the merchant banking arm of Midland Bank, which was later acquired by the HSBC Group. She has since held positions as Chief Operating Officer of Treasury and Capital Markets, and General Manager of Marketing and Human Resources functions for HSBC Bank plc. Dorner also had responsibility for HSBC Bank plc's branch network in the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and was General Manager, Premier and Wealth Management.

While in Malaysia, Dorner served as President of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and was a member of The Association of Banks in Malaysia and Institute of Bankers, Malaysia. She graduated from St. Anne’s College, Oxford with an M.A. in Jurisprudence.

Hopefully Irene can speak english and straighten out the mess smeone put the company in just look up Hsbc complaints.
