Ford (F) Rumored New COO Known as 'Brawler'

Reports today say Ford (NYSE: F) is planning to promote Mark Fields, currently president of Americas, to chief operating officer, making him the number two to CEO Alan Mulally and next in line for the top spot.

Fields, originally from Brooklyn, garnished a reputation as a brawler when, during a disagreement, he allegedly leapt out of chair and lunged for then CFO Don Leclair screaming "I'm tired of this bulls--!"

Despite rumors of having a hot head, Fields is credited in helping lead a turnaround of Ford's North American operations and for spearheading a culture of openness at the company.
