First Horizon Msaver Redesigns Web Site to Better Educate Consumers on HSAs

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Oct. 28, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- First Horizon Msaver, Inc., one of the nation's leading health savings account (HSA) administrators, has redesigned its Web site to include powerful new consumer engagement and educational tools to help individuals learn about and enroll in HSAs.

"With more and more employers expected to offer consumer-directed health plans this fall, we saw a need to enhance the educational content on our site to help convey to employees the value of opening up the tax-favored health savings account," said E. The redesigned site features a simpler user interface and a Video Vault containing video clips of people talking about their experiences with HSAs.

Another new feature is an Interactive HSA Presentation where visitors are invited to take an animated self-guided virtual tour to learn what an HSA is, how it works and why they should use one. They can also see examples of how HSAs work for individuals with single-only and family health insurance coverage, given various healthcare spending situations.

Two powerful calculators have also been added. One projects overall plan cost savings into the future, and a second calculator helps employees determine the size of the contribution that they can make to their HSAs. Keohan said that the site's enhanced educational components represent the beginning of several planned changes.

"We will soon be adding a 'Healthy Lifestyles Portal' that will help those using HSAs to stretch their health care dollars with discounts on prescription drugs, a health care services pricing tool that will help consumers negotiate to lower larger medical expenses and other savings tools," Keohan said.

A "Broker Portal" is slated to be available by the year's end that will make it more convenient for participating health insurance brokers to obtain HSA educational and sales materials and to remain current on issues that affect their business.
