Appalachian Bancshares (APAB) Announces Resignation of COO
Appalachian Bancshares, Inc. (Nasdaq: APAB) announced that J. Keith Hales has resigned as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Company, and its subsidiaries, Appalachian Community Bank (ACB) and Appalachian Community Bank, F.S.B, effective August 11, 2008, to pursue other endeavors.
Danny F. Dukes, the current Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company and its subsidiaries, will fill the role of COO on an interim basis.
Appalachian Bancshares, Inc. is the holding company for Appalachian Community Bank, a state-chartered bank located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Georgia. [SM]
