Ameristar Casinos, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASCA) announced that Sherri Summers, Ameristar's Jackpot, Nev., properties' Senior Vice President and General Manager has transferred to Ameristar Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk, Colo., where she will serve as Senior Vice President and General Manager. Andy Hamblen, Ameristar Black Hawk's Senior Vice President and General Manager transferred to Cactus Petes Resort Casino and Horseshu Hotel and Casino, Jackpot, Nev., and will serve as Senior Vice President and General Manager.
Summers served nearly a decade as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Ameristar's Jackpot, Nev., properties. She began her career at Ameristar's Cactus Petes in 1987. She was promoted many times during her tenure, beginning her career as a front desk clerk, and eventually serving as Hotel Manager, Director of Hotel Operations and Assistant General Manager / Acting General Manager. She then spent two years at Caesars Tahoe Resort Casino in Lake Tahoe, Nev., as Director of Hotel Operations. She returned to Jackpot in her current position as Senior Vice President and General Manager in 2002. In 2009, she also spent time at Ameristar Casino Hotel Council Bluffs as the interim General Manager until a replacement was named.
Hamblen originally joined Ameristar in May 1996 as Ameristar's Cactus Petes employment and training coordinator, later transferring to Ameristar's former property in Henderson, Nev., The Reserve, as Human Resources Director in 1999. He then left The Reserve for a Corporate Human Resources Manager position with Glanbia Foods in Twin Falls, Idaho. Andy rejoined Ameristar and Cactus Petes in 2005 as the Human Resources Director. In 2009, he was promoted to Cactus Petes' Assistant General Manager and a year later was promoted to the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Ameristar Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk. Prior to his career in gaming, Andy was a private business-owner; and he has more than 25 years of leadership experience.
