YouTube (GOOG) Continues to Retain Top Talent as Facebook (FB) Circles

While Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) is looking to tap more YouTube stars in an effort to grow its video views, many have dismissed the social media giant.

Video gamer PewDiePie, who has 38 million YouTube subscribers, has uploaded just 10 videos to Facebook since the beginning of 2015, versus 333 to YouTube. The entertainers also direct Facebook viewers t YouTube channels, which is a strategy employed by a slew of other YouTube stars.
There are a few main reasons that cause the "vloggers" to stick with YouTube: Revenue generation, overall fit, and community.
People have actually made money on YouTube, while Facebook is still working on its advertising strategy. The social media site has just a few ad partners right now, which may change down the line.
In terms of fit, vloggers don't see such content as tutorials translating well to Facebook's news feed.
YouTube also has a robust community of users; many users will visit a creators page weekly, versus just stumbling across a video that came down their news feed.
While Facebook could improve its video platform and algorithms (another sticky issue with content creators), YouTube appears to be the go-to platform for top-level entertainers and may stay that way over the near-term time frame.
Shares of Facebook are negative Tuesday, while Google (Nasdaq: GOOG)(Nasdaq: GOOGL) is positive.
