Following Yahoo's (Nasdaq: YHOO) secret announcement that it could end up retaining the Alibaba cash which was originally expected to be returned to shareholders, CEO Marissa Mayer is making more strategic moves Friday.

AllThingsD is reporting that Mayer is making a move to nab Katie Stanton from Twitter. Stanton is currently head of Twitter's International markets operation.

Notably, Mayer and Stanton worked together before at Google, Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG), when Stanton was the project management leader for the launch of Google Finance. Stanton also spearheaded the launch of Yahoo! Finance, which we at Streetinsider.com particularly enjoy.

Given that Stanton is familiar with big media, who knows what role Mayer might have her pegged to play. Front page chief? Head of Media and Commerce? With the success of Yahoo!'s Finance page, arguable one of the best parts of the operation, the sky appears to be the limit.

See if Mayer tweets anything about it on Twitter here. And, of course, follow Streetinsider.com here.
