Traders have there eye on a host of tech companies following comments from Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) CEO John Chambers about potential M&A.

Chambers said the company has gone too long without a big M&A. He also said the company will also be active, quicker on M&A.

Recent names linked to Cisco in the rumor mill include:
Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CTXS), F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), Radware Ltd. (NASDAQ: RDWR), NetApp, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP), Fusion-io, Inc. (NYSE: FIO), Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARUN), Riverbed Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: RVBD), Acme Packet, Inc. (NASDAQ: APKT), and Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT).

Thinking about a bigger, transformational deal and Cisco could look to EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC) and/or spin-off VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW).
