White House Said U.S. Has No Plans To Close Markets After Berlusconi Comments

White House spokesman Tony Fratto said the U.S. has no plans to close the financial markets.

The White House statement come after Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said the idea to suspend the world's financial markets has been discussed to "rewrite the rules of international finance." Berlusconi later reversed those comments.

As market's around the world melt-down, many are looking to government to stop the bleeding.
