Possibly a good sign for Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL)?
According to Digitimes, component supply for higher-end smartphones that vendors want to release in the second-half of 2014 might be tight. Sources said that most suppliers are preparing orders for Apple's new iPhone handset.
Some non-Apple vendors are also delaying the release of their own devices in order to avoid conflict with the launch of Apple's next iPhone, which is expected to happend sometime in Q314.
Vendors are also expected to remain conservative through the end of Q314, when the iPhone is fully available, so they'll be able to evaluate the device and its specs. The launch of new devices might be altered to best-position the vendors for better sales.
Shares of Apple are flat Friday.
