Netflix is going to see even more pressure across the pond starting in the first-half of 2012.

According to reports and data from the Company, U.K. media giant BSkyB is aiming to launch a streaming media service it hopes will rival offerings from Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX), Amazon's (Nasdaq: AMZN) LoveFilm, and YouView.

The offering from BSkyB will allow U.K. consumer to download and watch films without a contract or satellite dish.

Devices consumers will be able to watch BSkyB media on include laptops, PCs, gaming consoles, TVs, and smartphones. The service will also be offered with a monthly plan, ala Netflix.

With Netflix still a baby in the U.K., the move by BSkyB will add pressure. Amazon's LOVEFiLM was already a hit when Amazon acquired it last year, and YouView will also be launching in the first-half of 2012.

Netflix is trading higher Tuesday morning.
