Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) said to be working with Stripe over e-commerce initiative, according to Re/code.
UPDATE - Re/code believes that Twitter will roll-out adding buttons within posts that will allow customers to purchase an item. Users will then be able to enter payment and shipping information without having to leave the site.
Those looking to sell products on Twitter are being instructed to sign up with Stripe's payment service. It wasn't made immediately clear whether Stripe has an exclusive agreement with Twitter and/or if the two have a long-term contract in place.
In any case, investors will be keeping an eye on eBay (Nasdaq: EBAY) should its PayPal unit. Twitter has some solid user metrics, though there's no immediately available information on how many would purchase a product through the platform.
Shares of Twitter are up about 1 percent
