Twitter's (TWTR) Autoplay Video Ads Said Seeing Early Success

September 21, 2015 7:41 AM EDT

Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) is on watch following a positive mention with respect to its autoplay video advertising initiative.

AdWeek noted a high level of engagement with Twitter's autoplay video ads, even amid a rise in ad blockers.

One Adaptly executive noted that autoplay video ads also conquer the challenge of viewability. The big reason behind the success of autoplay video ads versus display ads is that there's no additional action required on the part of the user. That takes out the necessary step of having users to make an extra click in order to view content. If the user doesn't want to engage, they can simply keep scrolling down the video feed.

However, just like static ads, content on autoplay video ads still needs to be timely and relevant.

Twitter debuted autoplay ads in June of this year.

Shares of Twitter are indicated higher Monday morning.
