Tesla (TSLA) Model S Said to Crash in Beijing

July 11, 2014 7:23 AM EDT

Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) could make more headlines today following another crash. This one happened in arugably its largest and most controversial markets.

Reddit user FeetSlashBirds (/r/FeetSlashBirds) reported that the crash, which only involved a Model S, happend last night when he was walking home. The user describes the incident as heading and explosion and looking up to see the car smash into a concrete barrier surround a large power pole ... The driver immediately got out and got on his phone.

Meanwhile a bunch of people poured into the street to start rubbernecking. Hilariously, people also began digging through the debris for stuff to keep (and sell I guess). I watched at least two [Chinese character] drivers pick up headlights and metal rods and throw them in the back of their little trucks and drive off, FeetSlashBirds continued.

The accident is said to have happened here.
