TASER International (Nasdaq: TASR) and Digital Ally (Nasdaq: DGLY) are active Wednesday following a murder charge being brought against a South Carolina police officer today.
Officer Michael T. Slager, 33, was charged in the killing of Walter L. Scott, 50, after a video surfaced showing Slager shooting the allegedly unarmed Scott in the back eight times following a traffic stop last Saturday.
While the case is ongoing, another outcry for more police to become equipped with on-body cameras and other less lethal devices might result as the case moves through trial.
Shares of TASER and Digital Ally are both positive in the early afternoon session.
