Sprint (S) Higher as CEO Hess Says Nextel Will Be Desembled, Doubles Recapture Rate

Sprint Nextel (NYSE: S) shares are at session highs Wednesday as CEO Dan Hesse comments at a Goldman Sachs event today.

Hesse said the wireless carrier is moving to one network, desembling its Nextel system. The company also doubled its recapture rate from Nextel. Currently, 4 million postpad and 3 million prepaid customers are still with Nextel.

Hesse then commented that he hopes Sprint will play a role in industry consolidation and give high value to immediate M&A benefits.

He also said the Company had a meeting called "maintaining unlimited" with staff.

Sprint is up 3.5 percent on the session.
