Today, Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk congratulated Amazon's (Nasdaq: AMZN) Jeff Bezos on his Blue Origin landing a reusable rocket. Bezos is a co-founder of Blue Origin.
Musk also offered a little clarity surrounding the event (what is "space," for example) and the history behind landing a rocket. The following was posted to Twitter on Tuesday:
Congrats to Jeff Bezos and the BO team for achieving VTOL on their booster

It is, however, important to clear up the difference between "space" and "orbit", as described well by https://t.co/7PD42m37fZ
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) November 24, 2015
Getting to space needs ~Mach 3, but GTO orbit requires ~Mach 30. The energy needed is the square, i.e. 9 units for space and 900 for orbit.

@JeffBezos Not quite "rarest". SpaceX Grasshopper rocket did 6 suborbital flights 3 years ago & is still around. pic.twitter.com/6j9ERKCNZl

Jeff maybe unaware SpaceX suborbital VTOL flight began 2013. Orbital water landing 2014. Orbital land landing next. https://t.co/S6WMRnEFY5
