AMEX halted trading in Short Financial ETF products, Short Financials ProShares (AMEX: SEF) and UltraShort Financials ProShares (AMEX: SKF), at the request of the issuer Proshares due to the SEC temporary ban on shorting financial stocks. Proshares is expected to make a statement shortly.
We were told this was because Proshares can't find counter-parties for short swaps.
One thought is to trade Ultra Financials ProShares (AMEX: UYG), long or short, which is still trading for exposure.
