Reports Icahn Plans To Move Ahead with Yahoo! (YHOO) Proxy Fight

May 14, 2008 5:24 PM EDT

According to reports from Reuters, activist investors Carl Icahn said he will move forward with plans to elect a slate of directors to Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO) board of directors.

The report said Icahn has lined up a slate of at least 12 potential board candidates and could announce the slate tonight.

Tomorrow, May 15th, is the deadline for nominating an alternate board slate.

Yahoo! investors have publicly criticized the current board for failing to reach a buyout deal with Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT). Icahn's directors will likely be open to a deal with the software giant.
