(NYSE: MFE) announced the execution of a definitive merger agreement to acquire Secure Computing for $5.75 per common share in cash, without interest, representing an equity value for Secure Computing's common stock of approximately $413 million in the aggregate.
Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) 13% HIGHER; To become bank holding company. In addition, Mitsubishi UFJ in talks to buy up to 20% of Morgan.
Hoku Scientific, Inc. (Nasdaq: HOKU) 12% HIGHER; Secures Power for 4,000 Metric Tons of Polysilicon Production
Barclays plc (NYSE: BCS) 9% LOWER; downgraded by JP Morgan

Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) 5% HIGHER; announced that its Board approved a new share repurchase program authorizing up to an additional $40 billion in share repurchases with an expiration of September 30, 2013. The Board also declared a quarterly dividend of $0.13 per share, reflecting a 2c or 18% increase over the previous quarter's dividend of $0.11. The dividend is payable December 11, 2008 to shareholders of record on November 20, 2008. The ex-dividend date will be November 18, 2008.
