Nokia (NOK) Pressured as HTC's Windows Phone 8 Offerings Look Very Solid

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) is a little pressured today as rival HTC has unveiled its line of smartphones running Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows Phone 8: the HTC 8X and 8S.
First off, they look pretty awesome. Mostly block, with a swath of color on the bottom and matching color highlights on the earpiece and around the camera lens.
The 8X has a 4.3-inch 1280 x 720 LCD 2 display, which produces a staggering 341 pixels per inch (PPI). Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) Retina display last clocked in at 326 PPI.
Running the 8X is a dual-core Qualcomm (Nasdaq: QCOM) S4 processor, 16-GB of storage, and 1-GB of RAM. The batter is 1800-mAh and the device has NFC support. No support for MicroSD expansion has been mentioned.
Other features include an 8-migapixel (MP) camera, which can record in 1080p, and 2.1-MP front-facing camera.
To keep it simple, the 8S is the "simpler" version (S for simple). Features include 4-inch 800 x 400 Super LCD display. The processor is still the S4, but the device has 4-GB of onboard storage, and 512-MB of RAM.
It wasn't made clear whether the devices will support 4G LTE networks, but you almost assume they will at this point.
Shares of Nokia are down 0.5 percent Wednesday.

looks great
and probably will sell very well but I still think Nokia 920 has a leg up in quality, design and its PureView "stabilization" technology. it will be interesting to see how HTC's camera stacks up.

Not bad, but I'll wat a gneration or two before buying an HTC.
Most savvy consumers know to avoid a first generation HTC phone.
It took HTC 2 years before they could copy the better design elements of the other makers and manufacture an Android phone that didn't freeze or fall apart after a year.
