Light at the end of the tunnel?

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) shares are up 4.6 percent on the session Tuesday, probably following news of a positive reception for the very non-Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) smartphone: Samsung's Galaxy S III.

As Apple has sought world domination in the realm of all things smartphone (or tablets. Music, too), Nokia shares have fallen on the possibility that no one wants a Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows Phone-based device.

Though Samsung's new phone uses the newest version of Google's (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android operating system, some reports over the weekend suggested demand similar to that of a launch for a new Apple device.

This bodes well for Nokia, which should be unveiling new Windows 8 smartphones in the third quarter of 2012. Sales have been lagging for the Finnish giant, though it still has a lock in the low-price smartphone segment.

Or, Nokia might be on the move following the tweet of a Lumia 900 with a Batman logo etched on the back of it, which was made earlier on the session. No details about whether Bruce Wayne actually uses the modified Lumia 900, but it would be a smart move on his part. Who would suspect Wayne of being Batman if he's clearly just a disillusional fanboy? No one, that's who.
