Nokia (NYSE: NOK) may have a hit on its hands with the Lumia 520.
According to WMPoweruser, citing data from Google Trends, news headlines for the 520 have steadily increased. Since popping higher last March, the device now outpaces the Lumia 920 and Lumia 720 for interest.
GSMArena also has a chart showing that user engagement is high with the Lumia 520. Daily hits were a 53,614 for 520-related articles, second only to the Samsung Galaxy S4, and outpacing names like the HTC One and Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhone 5.
The Lumia 520 is largely designed as a smartphone for the masses, with prices for the device as low as $129 in some markets. The device is equipped with a 4-inch IPS display, 5-MP camera, and 1430 mAh battery. It runs on a Qualcomm (Nasdaq: QCOM) Snapdragon S4 processor and utilizes Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows Phone 8 operating system.
