Nike (NYSE: NKE) maid out like a bandit with the release of arguably one of the most popular sneakers this year.
According to SportScanInfo, roughly 342,015 pairs of the Air Jordan XI "Legend Blue" within the first three hours of its release, with an average selling price of $179.80 apiece. The company also sold 137,751 pairs of kids sizes with an average price of $142.24 each.
The grand total was over $81 million in total sales.
SportScanInfo tracks data at major retailers, but it wasn't clear of whether it tracked data from Nike's physical stores and online shop. That means the total could be much higher.
Shares of Nike are up 0.4 percent in early trading Tuesday.
