New Jersey American Water Begins Phase Two of Middleton Water Main Installation Project
New Jersey American Water begins the second phase of a water main installation project in Middletown Township, Monmouth County. This project will improve the reliability of water service to the area. The cost of this second phase of the project is approximately $1.8 million. The entire project will require an investment in Middletown of approximately $18 million and is expected to be complete in 2010.
"The region's water infrastructure is critical and this capital investment will help ensure long-term water service reliability in Middletown," said John Bigelow, president of New Jersey American Water. "New Jersey American has worked with officials in Middletown to minimize the impact to residents along the construction route."
Beginning the last week of August and continuing for eight to ten weeks, contractor crews working with New Jersey American Water will install approximately 4,700 feet of water main in Swimming River Road from Majestic South to 600 feet north of the intersection of Newman Springs Road.
