New Book Claims Goldman Sachs (GS) Trying to "Kill China"
Not only is Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) the subject of public outrage in the U.S., but now the venerable investment bank is the subject of conspiracy theories in China, the Associated Press reports.
A new book "Goldman Sachs Conspiracy" has sold over 100,000 copies since being released in June and reached Sina.com's popular Top-10 list.
The book, which some say reads more like a novel than a real story, claims Goldman Sachs is trying to "kill China."
With the "cruel character of a Manchurian tiger, the group creeps around the world, like a veteran hunter stalking its prey," author Li Delin writes.
Despite the controversy surrounding the company in China, its business hasn't taken a hit. The firm was an underwriter in the record $22.1 billion initial public offering by the Agricultural Bank of China, among other large deals.
