Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) is going to shell over $40 million to Chris Rock for two comedy standup specials, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The payment is said to be more than what is paid to comedians such as Jerry Seinfeld and Louis C.K.

Rock's first show will begin taping in 2017. The taping will follow a world tour and be Rock's first standup special in about eight years.
