Netflix (NFLX) Expects to Stem VPN Usage with Global Expansion

Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) recently announced that it will expand to nearly every country in the world, which will help the company to stem views that utilize VPNs.

Global Web Index noted today that about 25 percent of online adults have admitted to using a VPN, with around 10 percent saying that they did so in order to access better entertainment content.

It's also expected that VPN users are more likely to pay for better content, making the global expansion even more lucrative for Netflix. Of course, the big market for Netflix will be China. The company also noted recently that it is still exploring entry options for that market.

Shares of Netflix are up 1 percent.
