Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is planning to launch Xbox One in Japan on September 4th, the company said today in an announcement.
Further, Microsoft will also be pricing the Xbox One flat with Sony's (NYSE: SNE) PS4. The version with Kinect will sell for 49,980¥ (about $490) while a console sans Kinect will run 39,980¥ (about $392). Sony's PS4 launched last February at 39,980¥.
Launch titles for Xbox One in Japan include: Forza 5, Kinect Sports Rivals, Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome from Microsoft, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Thief, Murdered: Soul Suspect and Call of Duty: Ghosts from Square Enix.

While there's no question that Japan is a key market for Microsoft with its gaming console, some might wonder how a seven-month delay from the PS4 launch might affect overall sales.
